Rehabilitation Support Worker

Part-time hours, Shireoaks Area

An exciting opportunity has arisen to support an 11-year-old girl within her home and community. We are looking to recruit someone with experience of working with young people following a brain injury, who has an understanding of the common effects of a brain injury, so they are able to manage her fatigue, anxiety and behaviour.

Your Role:

You will be required to:

  • Work with a rehabilitation team who will support you to provide fun activities and rehabilitation therapy programs to follow.
  • Motivate and encourage our client to be more independent and to re-engage with the community following Covid restrictions
  • Log any Accidents/Incidents, daily activities record and support worker expenses and mileage record
  • Travel with, act as driver, or take responsibility for the client when travelling, ensuring that safety is a priority whilst using public transport/clients’ own car and when accompanying the client on each outing
  • Undertake any other appropriate and reasonable task in relation to the employment as agreed with the client’s family and Case Manager
  • Be flexible in hours of work to satisfy the client and his family’s needs.

Person Specification:

  • Patience, enthusiasm, maturity and professionalism are essential for this position
  • A fun outlook and motivational attitude are essential
  • Someone who is focused and active, who can engage with our client
  • Willingness to integrate therapies into activities and follow therapy programs from the Rehabilitation team is essential
  • Experience working with children and young adults with complex Brain Injury.
  • Full U.K. Driver’s License essential to facilitate outings using client’s car
  • You must have a degree of flexibility

HOURS:         15 hours 45 minutes per week (Term-time Only)

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

07:00 – 09:00

15:00 – 18:30

PAY:               £15.00 per hour
