SCHOOL/HOME SUPPORT WORKERS REQUIRED
Area: Dunholme & Lincoln
Contract: Avg. 37 hours per week contract
Shift Patterns of work for the rota as it develops are as follows.
Term time:
- 8:00 till 16:30
- 16:00 till 21:30
- 21:00 till 8:30
Weekends/Bank Holidays/school holidays:
- 8:00 till 20:00
- 20:00 till 8:00
Flexibility and availability to work additional hours when required is essential and potential to work waking nights and accompany the family on holidays.
Salary: Dependent on experience to be discussed at interview.
Starting from £17.64 per hour weekdays, £22.64 weekends/nights and £24.64 bank holidays.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to support a 7-year-old within their school setting and at home to encourage and promote his development through forming relationships and following therapy programmes. Our client has a complex brain injury with West Syndrome and is fully dependant on others for all aspects of daily life including personal care, PEG, therapy and medication provision.
You are expected to have proficient written, communication, problem-solving and Care skills. All essential and specific training will be given to help you fulfil your role.
If you do not hold a valid NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) we will enrol you onto The Care Certificate qualification, which we expect you to complete within your first 6 months of employment.
Person Specification:
- Dynamic, friendly and active individual with willingness to participate in educational activities, delivery of therapy, family activities and family holidays is essential
- Patience, enthusiasm, and professionalism are essential for this position
- Experience of working with family’s and/or in the community is essential
- Flexibility in work hours to satisfy the client and their family’s needs are essential
- Full clean U.K. Drivers’ Licence essential
- Ability to move and handle the client using equipment for this and mobility is essential
- 1-1 therapy/classroom assistant Experience is desirable
