Support Worker Vacancy


Full-time hours, Tickhill/ Doncaster Area

An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of a small well-established care team who support a 20-year-old young lady within her own home and community. Our client has cerebral palsy and is wheelchair dependent. Aspects of personal care involved and support with therapy programs.

Your role:

  • Supporting our client in her own home and in the community ensuring she is well-supported whilst encouraging independence.
  • Reinforcing and assisting in delivery of a Physiotherapy program under the guidance of the necessary professionals.
  • Motivating and encouraging our client to participate in a variety of recreational pursuit.
  • Travel with, act as driver for the client or take responsibility, ensuring safety whilst using public transport when accompanying the client on outings.
  • Ensuring accuracy in completion of detailed shift records submitted on an electronic system.

Person Specification:

  • Some experience working with young adults with an acquired brain injury is essential but all necessary training will be given
  • Highly-motivated and proactive attitude in organising and implementing activities within and outside the clients home
  • A positive and reassuring approach
  • Non-smokers only
  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to a car is essential
  • Availability to support the young lady on holidays and short breaks if required
  • You must have a degree of flexibility as the working hours are based on a Rota.

 HOURS: 36 hours per week on a rota basis. Usually, 12 hour shifts on a rolling Rota comprising of both waking day shifts and sleeping or waking night shift.

 PAY: £12.00 per hour for waking days, £10.00 per hour for sleeping nights, £13 per hour for waking nights
