Full and part-time hours, Nottingham Area

An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of a small well-established care team who support a teenage girl within her own home and community. Our client has complex health needs which include cerebral palsy, epilepsy and she also has a tracheostomy and gastrostomy in situ. All training will be given. She is wheelchair dependent, hoisted for all transfers and completely dependent on others for all her care needs.

Your role:

You will be required to-

  • Assist the client and her parent with care routines
  • Accompany the client on community activities and acting as driver if required
  • Reinforce any therapy goals and programs under the guidance of the necessary professionals
  • Complete moving and handling (in accordance with training)
  • Provide and aid sensory play for the client
  • Provide chest physiotherapy for the client (you will be trained in this)
  • Provide all personal care for the client
  • Undertake any necessary domestic duties related to the client
  • Providing nutrition to the client via her PEG tube (once trained)
  • Administer medication as appropriate as per the protocol in the Support Plan via the client’s PEG (you will be trained in this)
  • Tracheostomy care should be meticulous (you will be trained in this)

Person Specification:

  • Patience, enthusiasm, maturity and professionalism are essential for this position
  • Experience working with young adults with complex Brain Injury is essential
  • Car and Full U.K. Drivers Licence essential
  • Experience in cleaning clinical equipment is desirable as this needs to be done to the highest standard
  • You must have a degree of flexibility as the working hours are based on a rota
  • Non-smokers only

HOURS: The shifts include early mornings, days, evenings, waking nights and weekends on a rota basis. We are happy to consider part time or full-time hours (35 hours available)

PAY: £11.50 per hour weekdays- £12.50 per hour weekends/nights
